This week, you’ll get some quick news that you can’t miss. What albums and music videos have been released last week? That and much more can be found by scrolling down.

NEWS OF THE WEEK

Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA belong among the most significant faces of the current scene. Both rappers regularly deliver unique music. Music that you simply cannot put into one box or the other. Danny is supposed to release his long-awaited album Quaranta (XXXX) later this year, but before he does that, we will get a joint project with the mentioned JPEGMAFIA. Both artists have been teasing the album for over a year now, and we can celebrate because it is coming soon.

The album is called Scaring The Hoes and will be released on March 24. It will contain 14 tracks. Redveil is the only guest. Above, you can see the cover art for the album. Artists also released a first single, followed by a video, giving us a perfect idea of how the final product will sound. We can expect a chaotic experimental sound with tough punchlines.

NEWS

New Balance collection in collaboration with Action Bronson is released

Multitalented artist from Queens Actions Bronson: rapper, chef, painter, wrestler, or you can just say guy with it all now added another profession into his resume and it is clothes designer. This opportunity has been offered to him by New Balance. In his collection, you can find different pieces of clothing, for example t-shirts, shorts, socks, and balaclavas, but the main pillars of the whole collection are shoes. Action has picked up the model 990v6 announced in November 2022. These shoes turned out amazingly under his supervision, like basically everything he puts his hands on. The artist stated that these shoes in his vision represent his favorite dessert, baklava, or the crocodile arising from the water.

The legendary Kool Keith teams up with producer Real Bad Man

Legendary Kool Keith joins forces with talented producer Real Bad Man, producer of an uncountable amount of gems during the last couple of years, for example the albums Killing Nothing (with Boldy James) and Real Bad Flights (with Pink Siifu), both of which are in our TOP 100 Rap Albums Of 2022. Their collaboration is called SERPENT and is planned for release on March 24th. In between the guests are names like Ice-T, Slug from Atmosphere, and ZelooperZ. If you are like us and cannot wait for the final release, you can listen to the two already released tracks, and after listening, you will assume, as we did, that this album will be something magnificent.

Documentary about the most anticipated album of the spring

The wait is almost over. Rapper Larry June and producer Alchemist will be releasing their long-awaited album The Great Escape on March 31st. Artists already released two clips teasing the upcoming project; in our opinion, even the biggest skeptics will get on board after watching. And if that would not be enough for you, artists also released a documentary about the whole creative process behind the album. The documentary records the whole procedure of recording the album: production, sequencing, and even a BBQ. We cannot wait for the end of March.

Conway the Machine & Jae Skeese – Pain Provided Profit

Conway is unstoppable. He just finished his European tour and is one of the most respected rappers on the scene, and now, together with Jae Skeese, he delivers an album brimming with creativity and amazing chemistry between both artists from start to finish. The album contains 7 tracks, and only the last one has guests on it. Those are 7xvethegenius, GooseBytheway, and SK Da King. We can recommend this heavy-hitting project with all that we have. No music video was released for the album, so we are attaching a video for the song Against Tha Grain.

The Musalini & John Dutch – Gentlemen of Leisure

In the last couple of years, The Musalini has delivered one project after the other, and this year probably will not be any different, so we are getting his first album, Gentlemen of Leisure, very early. The album was produced by John Dutch. Musalini tends to pick productions that sound like they are royalty-worthy. Street sounds wrapped in a golden robe: those are the beats delivered by John Dutch. Except for the Musalini, you will also hear names like Izzy Hott, O Finess, Staten Stacks, and more.

Hus KingPin – The Tricky tape (A-Side)

Another very productive artist is our favorite, Hus KingPin. Hus likes to pay tribute to unique musicians. The album Portishus was a tribute to Portishead, and the album Björkingpin was a tribute to the singer Björk. This time around, the album pays tribute to trip-hop pioneer Tricky. The album was produced by Manny Megz, and except for the Hus KingPin, you will also hear Canibus. A-Side suggests that there is more to come, and we cannot wait.

Lord Apex & Drae Da Skimask – THE ELEVATED AND ELUSIVE

Lord Apex is one of the most talented British rappers. Last year in October, he released the album Joga bonito, and because he wants to reward his fans, he is releasing another album called THE ELEVATED AND ELUSIVE just 6 months later. The album is completely produced by Drae Da Skimask, and you will get another first-class delivery of atmospherical beats with elements of jazz so typical for the rapper. The album is also free to download on Bandcamp.

Dylan Gray – Wigan Pier

Dylantheinfamouse is among the best current producers. Last year, the artist imprinted his unique signature into the album GUANAHANI (with Obijuan) and gave us a pallet of bone-chilling, dark, atmospherical beats. Dylantheinfamous is not only an amazing producer but also a great rapper. Under his pseudonym Dylan Gray, he released the EP Wigan Pier, named after the location around the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in the city of Wigan. EP has a very chilling atmosphere; Dylan’s uncompromising style of delivery shines in combination with diverse beats. The guests on the album are Manics and Franklin Armstrong.
