NEWS OF THE WEEK

Pray for Haiti

Mach-Hommy - #RICHAXXHAITIAN cover
Mach-Hommy – #RICHAXXHAITIAN cover

The wait is finally over. Mach-Hommy, a rapper with Haitian roots, has released his long-awaited album #RICHAXXHAITIAN, ending a four-part series that began in 2016 with HBO (Haitian Body Odor) and continued in 2021 with Pray for Haiti and Balens Cho. The release date was not randomly chosen by Mach; May 18 is Haitian Flag Day, a Haitian holiday celebrating the creation of the Haitian flag during the Haitian Revolution. #RICHAXXHAITIAN is a monumental piece of art featuring guest appearances from 03 Greedo, Black Thought, Roc Marciano, HEPHZIBAH, Drea D’Nur, Your Old Droog, Tha God Fahim, and Big Cheeko, and beats produced by Conductor Williams, Quelle Chris, SadhuGold, KAYTRANADA, and more.

#RICHAXXHAITIAN will undoubtedly join the golden fund of hip-hop. Not only does Mach rap with incredible skill, but the record also offers thought-provoking content and a cohesive, memorable experience. Hip-hop has always been a genre for the downtrodden. It is an artistic revolt against a system that exploits certain groups of people. And few countries in the world can speak of oppression with the same experience as Haiti. Mach-Hommy masterfully reflects on the problems of his homeland, but his ideas are broader and universally applicable. Mach mentions the current genocide in Gaza, but his primary focus is on the very nature of late-stage capitalism. Entire societies are being exploited so that a few people who own the largest multinational corporations can have as much money as no individual in the world should have. The #RICHAXXHAITIAN is further proof that Mach-Hommy is one of the greatest artists of his generation. It’s a work that everyone should hear. Pray for Haiti.

NEWS

Hope dies last, Roc Marciano and Ka are still planning a joint album

Roc Marciano and Ka. Few rap names resonate as strongly as these. They are both clearly two of the best rappers of all time, and coincidentally, they are longtime and very good friends. If we count correctly, Marciano and Ka have twelve songs together. But their collaboration goes beyond the guest appearance. In 2012, the artists revealed that they were planning a collaborative album under the Metal Clergy moniker called Piece Be With You. However, twelve years have passed, and they still haven’t released an album. Marciano has revealed several times that the album is in the works; Ka has been more modest and has even said a few times that they already have a lot of songs together, so a new album is unnecessary in his opinion. However, hope never dies. In fact, Roc Marciano revealed in a recent interview with Stereogum, “Marci and Ka? I think that will definitely happen, because we still talk about it!” He added, however, that they are both very busy and that they need to find time together to make the record. We’re hoping that we’ll actually get to see the record at some point, because we can’t think of a project we’re more excited about.

Iconic duo NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge) will release a new album

Rap is characteristic in that it absorbs all possible genres. Sometimes on SudetyRaport, you will read about something that only verges on rap, yet it is an integral part of rap culture. One such example is the neo-soul duo NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge), who released their debut album Yes Lawd! in 2016. Why are we writing about the duo? There are several reasons. NxWorries release under the Stones Throw Records label, home of the Madvillany album. Moreover, Knxwledge is one of the most distinctive producers of his generation, and he has a record with Mach-Hommy to his credit. NxWorries will release their second album, Why Lawd?, on June 14. Look forward to nineteen tracks, with guest appearances from the likes of Earl Sweatshirt. You can also stream a new music video featuring Snopp Dogg.

The film follows almost every step Conway takes, allowing you to soak up the atmosphere of the famous Italian city with the artist. Rap Man Gavin & postureless – Memories, Dreams, Reflections cover

Our website, SudetyRaport, is based on strong values. Rap is art, and art is not a product. Rap is art, and art is empathy and understanding. Rap is art, and art is people. We treat every artist and their work with respect, empathy, and a desire for understanding. And this approach rewards us every day. Every once in a while, we come across an album that shakes our worldview to the core and energizes us with previously unrecognized energy. Last week’s Memories, Dreams, Reflections from rapper Rap Man Gavin and producer postureless left a strong imprint on us. Rap Man Gavin is an artist from Cape Town, South Africa, who has released albums such as To Live & Die in Any Given Place. On the album Memories, Dreams, Reflections, he tries to come to terms with the unstoppable stream of emotions he experiences daily and find inner peace. Join the artists on a spiritual journey full of challenges and new experiences. You will be rewarded. „Yin yang, I been damned but I can feel my peace coming. That’s real man. I hope“ – Rap Man Gavin. Unfortunately, no music video was released for the album, so we’re attaching the video for the track A Close Encounter With Hell.

Mike Shabb – SEWASIDE III

Mike Shabb – SEWASIDE III cover

From the first moment we heard SEWASIDE II and Bokleen World two years ago, we knew Mike Shabb was going to be a star. The talent from Montreal has everything a rap artist could dream of. His wide range of abilities is something that makes him one of a kind, and his latest album, SEWASIDE III, is a breathtaking and distinctive piece of art. Mike Shabb has come a long way since 2016, when he released the first installment of the Sewaside series, but rap still runs through his veins. SEWASIDE III is like a gallery of the best of modern rap. From the first minute, you’ll be amazed at the sheer creativity that oozes from the record. The album is both introspective and monumental. Mike Shabb isn’t afraid to describe all his feelings, yet he manages to come up with an incredibly catchy chorus. Mike Shabb is not only a talented rapper but also a producer. His beats combine a variety of genres, from jazz to trap. He is backed by a plethora of world-class guests, including Navy Blue and Boldy James. SEWASIDE III is the next level in his career, and we honestly have no idea where he can take it next.

The record features a host of stellar guest appearances, including Lil Wayne, Niko Brim, Baby Tate, Phylicia Rashad, Mantragold, Bibi Bourelly, Keznamdi, Nicole Bus, Erykah Badu, Alex Isley, DIXSON, and Bee-B. Each of them brings their own unique energy, and together with Rapsody, they create a musical experience that resonates long after listening. The lyrics are a meditation on faith, hope, and finding light in dark times. Rapsody reflects on the days of loneliness, when she sought solace in God while never losing her unrelenting energy and determination. Her words are full of strength, whether she is talking about her struggles in life or how she is learning from her mistakes and growing. The production on Please Don’t Cry is carefully balanced and supports Rapsody’s lyrical depth. Each track offers something new, from introspective ballads to energetic bangers.
