ScHoolboy Q is back with an album of therapeutic bangers
ScHoolboy Q is an artist that everyone loves. He has world-famous hits and great records to his credit; his music entertains mainstream listeners and underground rap fans alike. ScHoolboy Q released his fifth album, CrasH Talk, in 2019 and has only made guest appearances on a few tracks since then. The wait for a new project after five long years is over. It was with great pleasure that we were able to stream BLUE LIPS last week.
BLUE LIPS, like qroovy’s other records, has a colorful palette of sounds and top-notch rap. Everyone will find their favorite track here. ScHoolboy Q alternates aggressive tracks with melancholic ones. The album, despite its almost one-hour duration, passes quickly and never gets boring. ScHoolboy Q has certainly undergone personal development, and BLUE LIPS is different from its predecessors. While other groovy albums are more like immersive adrenaline films, BLUE LIPS is a book. It’s therapy to play out loud in your car. It’s a moment in the club when you reflect on the lyrics of the song that got the whole club moving, and for a moment you close in on yourself and time stops. On record, ScHoolboy Q reflects on gangster themes and his life so far in both introspective and macro ways. It is in the duality of the album that its greatest strength and uniqueness lie.

Spook! & SadhuGold take you to the wild wild west
“Spooky action in a distance baby.” Album No Country ll: Hell on Wheels (The Ballad Of Isom Dart!) has such a strong narrative that it literally transports you to another world. It’s no coincidence that we placed the album in our Top 100 Best Rap Albums of 2023. spook! and SadhuGold are artists who get along like few others. Their album from last year is a cinematic rap trip to the wild west that carries all the filth of the modern United States. spook! works in a similar way to Ka. He’s taken a certain narrative that lends him creative freedom, and through it he reflects on contemporary socio-cultural social issues and tells stories from his life. The album features beats from producers such as Preservation, Evidence, and Quelle Chris. SadhuGold isn’t the only producer whose western tunes you’ll hear. However, he was the one who put the whole album together and interspersed it with countless skits that make for an immersive experience. Why are we writing about the album today? Because last week it was released on all streaming services, anyone can really listen to it. Still, feel free to support the artist in a direct way.
Stove God Cook$ has teamed up with legendary producer
Stove God Cook$. This name resonates with the underground rap community more than any other. The unique rapper released his debut album Reasonable Drought (w/ Roc Marciano) in 2020, and we’ve been waiting for his next project ever since. Stove has made guest appearances on countless tracks and proves every month that we really do have something to look forward to. A couple of weeks ago, he dropped the track Melo Chip and a Brick and last week, he dropped the track Carbone, produced by legendary producer Stoupe. Once again, Stove God has combined the uncompromising grime of underground rap, melody, and star power, which makes the track an undeniable hit. This is the kind of music you want to hear loudly, preferably in a packed club. So how about the anticipated album? We still don’t know, unfortunately, but Stove God Cook$ has announced several times that he will really please his fans and release big things this year.
Lukah and Real Bad Man will release a joint album
Get ready for an unforgettable musical ride. Real Bad Man and Lukah have released the first single, The Initiates Piece, from their collaborative album Temple Needs Water. Village Needs Peace, which will be released on March 29th! The first single alone, featuring billy woods, gives us a taste of the immense talent and creativity to come. Both of these artists are synonymous with quality and originality in hip-hop culture, and their collaboration promises to be a musical gem. Get ready for an explosion of emotion and deep lyrics that will hit you right in the heart. This album will be a real gem for rap fans.

Brainorchestra x Budamunk – Greatness Takes A Lifetime
Brainorchestra is a truly unique artist on three different levels. He is really determined, and every decision is well thought out. Other self-sufficient artists could take inspiration from what a working rap model looks like. Brainorchestra releases multiple albums a year, always rewards his fans, often takes them behind the curtain of his creative process, and even uses Patreon to build his community. The second level is the artistic one. Brainorchestra is not only a great rapper but also a producer. The third, and perhaps the most important, is the love of music. You can feel from every beat and every verse that Brainorchestra lives for the music. We are 100% sure he couldn’t do anything else in his life. His albums are like toy stores, where Brainorchestra uses every toy he comes across with fascination. His newest project, Greatness Takes A Lifetime, produced entirely by Japanese talent Budamunk, is no exception. The project is focused, full of great lyrics, and, most importantly, fun. This is simply a joy to listen to.
Jmo Let Em Know – Ghoulish Sounds Volume 3
The new album Ghoulish Sounds Volume 3 from rapper Jmo Let Em Know brings energy and power, much of the credit for this goes to the production by the talented Purpdogg. Jmo Let Em Know’s lyrics are sharp and uncompromising, bringing real authenticity to the world of hip-hop. The album is a testament to his exceptional talent and ability to convey emotion through his words. From bold statements about his life and experiences to amazing technical skills, this album offers an incredible experience for listeners. Jmo Let Em Know proves that he is one of the most exciting and promising names in the rap world today. Unfortunately, no music video was released for the album, so we are attaching a video for the Grateful Dead.
ProdbyTeyo – Birds of Passage
Some things are simple. Like the fact that if RLX is guesting somewhere, we need to hear it. Birds of Passage is the first project we’ve heard from producer ProdbyTeyo, and we plan to further our education. Birds of Passage is world rap in the best sense of the word. Teyo has invited a plethora of great rappers to contribute to the album, often with Colombian roots. The aforementioned RLX, CRIMEAPPLE, and Primo Profit are not missing. The album breaks all boundaries and lets you travel anywhere you want. The beats are full of great samples, catchy melodies, and are spacious enough. The rappers will hypnotize you with their life stories and leave you wanting more. Unfortunately, no music video was released for the album, so we attach Primo Profit’s “Off Top” Freestyle (Top Shelf Premium).
blackchai – Year Wandering
Blackchai brings us Year Wandering with an irresistible mix of beats from a haunted house, Gex Armour, riley lamarre, SINAI and JUNIE. Each track pulsates with energy and originality. Guest artists 98PREEM, Illohim, and Cise Greeny add their unique vocal colors and lyrical skills to the mix, taking the album to a new level.
