We are SudetyRaport, Your favorite rap plug, and today is exactly one year since we launched our website. For a year now, we’ve been taking you into the depths of the best rap, introducing you to artists you’ve never heard of, and bringing you all the nooks and crannies of the genre. Today, we’d like to reflect on our work, look back on everything we’ve done so far, and most importantly, look to the future. In this article and in a complementary poll that you can find on Instagram Stories or Stories Selections, we’ll tell you what we’re up to, focus on the sustainability of the web, and give you a space for your feedback and valuable suggestions to make our content the best it can be. Thank you all for your support; we appreciate every single one of you. We’d love to have you stick with us for the year ahead and the many more we have ahead of us. We have big and exciting things coming up.
GOLDEN AGE
First, let’s focus on the content we are creating at the moment. Every Monday, we bring you Rap Weekly, where we summarize the most interesting news from the scene and highlight the best records and music videos released that week. We go really in depth with the news. We recommend fifteen records and fifteen music videos in each weekly issue, chosen from a pool of roughly triple that number. Let us know on Instagram or Twitter if you enjoy Rap Weekly articles, find them enriching, or read them regularly. Share what you find lacking, what bothers you, or what you would improve.
On the website, you will also find the Album of the Week section, in which we analyze the most important or interesting rap albums in detail. In it, we comprehensively reflect on the unlimited possibilities of the genre, with which the average listener may not be familiar. For example, we have written about an album that combines Vincent van Gogh’s paintings with rap or a record that is thematically tuned to Homer’s Odyssey and brings life in the boroughs of New York to life through the famous epic. These articles are very demanding to prepare, and we don’t have the space at the moment to bring them to you on a regular basis. However, if you enjoy them, by all means feel free to write to us; we will do everything in our power to make them regular.
In the Best of section, you will find exhaustive selections of the best albums of the year. These are massive articles that any rap fan can get lost in for hours and discover new favorites. We also create an immeasurable number of playlists. The playlists are carefully curated and contain the best songs from the month. You’ll find a playlist for every month from January 2020 to today on Spotify. Would you like to see playlists on Apple Music too? Drop us a line, we’d be happy to accommodate you.
UNDERGROUND RENAISSANCE
Now we move on to the most important thing: the future. The current content is not the only thing that makes up SudetyRaport; on the contrary, we are planning much more. We would like to bring you interviews with the most interesting artists, both from the domestic scene and abroad. The interviews would initially be in text form only, but we still think they would have unique and very interesting content.
We also want to fine-tune the website technically, switch to a faster server, and keep coming up with new ideas. At this point, however, we need to talk about the sustainability of the site itself. Working on SudetyRaport takes us dozens of hours a week and fills all our free time. Moreover, we create everything in both Czech and English. We certainly don’t complain, we are proud of what we bring to you, and we create all content with love. There are no invasive and tacky ads on the site, and we create everything from scratch ourselves, without anybody’s interference. But if we want to bring new things to the table, like interviews or video content, we can’t do it without your support.
Of course, we’d like to reward you for your support, so we’d like to come up with premium exclusive content that would be directly on the website or on the Herohero and Patreon platforms. We’d really appreciate it if you’d let us know on Instagram if you’d consider subscribing to exclusive content and which method would suit you best. We’d also love to bring you some dope merch to let everyone know that your rap knowledge is all over the place.
