60. Koncept Jack$on – HTR Vol: 1 The Legend of Tawny Tone
HTR Vol: 1 The Legend of Tawny Tone is another unique project. Koncept Jack$on, a rapper from Richmond, has a distinct rap style that is unlike anything else on the scene. Like Rahiem Supreme (the only guest on the album), Koncept is flowing through the beats with his own unique and fascinating style. His flows are chaotic but very precise at the same time. The majority of the album was produced by no.face so what you can expect is a very personal, innovative sound full of extraordinary samples.

59. CRIMEAPPLE – Jaguar On Palisade 2
CRIMEAPPLE, a very active rapper from New Jersey, was unstoppable last year. Not that he released a instrumental project and exclusive EP, he also released album You’re Dead Already, Spanish album Sin Cortar produced by DJ Muggs, project Jaguar On Palisade 2 and Breakfast in Hradec. The last two albums mantioned you can find in our list. Jaguar On Palisade 2 is a follow-up to the album from 2020, and once again, the rapper is very hungry. The album does not have any guests, but the rapper himself is sufficient enough.

58. SadhuGold & spook! – Ni**as Is Magic (Or “Meme Magick” If You White)
If you’re familiar with the name SadhuGold, you’re already aware of his style, which may not be for everyone. His productions are some of the most chaotic, although they are chaos that you will fall in love with. Rapper spook! performed to the best of his abilities on this album, and both artists knew that what they had created here was absolutely unique, so they decided to continue their collaboration and released another three projects via Bandcamp. As we said, chaos is not for everybody, but for those who fall in love with it, it will be very difficult to leave it behind.

57. CRIMEAPPLE & DJ Skizz – Breakfast In Hradec
As we mentioned above, CRIMEAPPLE managed to squeeze two of his albums into our list. Three years after their previous collaboration, Wet Dirt, the rapper teams up with producer DJ Skizz on the album Breakfast in Hradec (a reference to the Czech city of Hradec Králové). The producer delivers softer productions full of beautiful samples, on which CRIMEAPPLE feels as natural as he does on bone-chilling hard-hitting productions.

56. AJ Suede & Small Professor – Hundred Year Darkness
2022 was another very productive year for AJ Suede, and every single project he released was almost excellent, which is why you can find the majority of them on our list. But this one is the one that piqued our interest the most. Small Professor delivered excellent experimental productions that complemented Suede perfectly. Both of these guys gave absolutely everything they could have given, and that is most likely the reason why this became their best project from the last year.

55. YUNGMORPHEUS & Obijuan – Slang Casino
Album Slang Casino features a one-of-a-kind collaboration between Nassau-born rapper Obijuan and producer YUNGMORPHEUS. The original palette of sounds and great chemistry between the artists are just two of many reasons why you should listen to this album.

54. YL & Eyedress – The Hills Have Eyes
A little heads up: YL appears on the list quite a few times; that probably does not come as a surprise considering the rapper´s ability to flow through the beats very naturally. EP The Hills Have Eyes is a joint project of YL and producer Eyedress, and these two manage to deliver so many original ideas that it would be enough for another two whole albums while this EP checks out at 13 minutes. This EP is a perfect entry point to the discographies of both artists.

53. Fatboi Sharif & noface – Preaching In Havana
Preaching In Havana is probably the most unique music we heard last year. The album is bringing us to a post-apocalyptic world full of hopelessness and brutal scenes. Fatboi’s unique use of his voice paints a picture of the rotten world that’s falling apart. In his lyrics, he combines the mysticism and chaos of the digital millennium, where emotions are being used solely for transactions in the invisible, never-ending web of big corporations. While listening, we remembered cult classics movies like New Rose Hotel (1998) and Demonlover (2002), which is praise at the highest level.

52. zoomo – Cloyd
zoomo, a talented producer from New York, is far less well-known than we would like. On his album, Cloyd, he invited many interesting guests. Names like Chuck Strangers, Starker, ANKHLEJOHN or The Hidden Character are some of the best on the whole underground scene. One of the features is done by the producer SadhuGold. The album is an absolute necessity for everybody.

51. DJ Muggs & Rigz – Gold
The legendary DJ Muggs does not seem to know the meaning of the word “sleep” these last few years. He always delivers at least a few projects every year and always takes some unknown artist under his wing; this time, he decided to invite Rigz and provided him with the best possible set of beats, as he always does, and the rapper used the potential of each beat to the maximum and is absolutely phenomenal. You will find magnificent rap schemes and equally magnificent flows. This is an absolute necessity for every fan of hip hop.
