NEWS OF THE WEEK
RRR Music Group is on top of their game this year. Rapper YL released albums Soda Club Deluxe, In Memory of (w/ zoomo), Lo.Face (w/ Starker & no.face) and The Hills Have Eyes (w/ Eyedress). zoomo released album Cloyd and produced album Freakjet for rapper Vel The Wonder. So, as you can see there is quite a bit of a work these guys have done during the past year but that was not enough for them and after all this, we have got a project by the trio Starker, YL and zoomo and it is called RRR: The Album.
Let us tell you straight from a get go, it is quite a piece, so much creativity, chemistry between the artists is unreal and whole project is brimming with ideas. It is an absolute necessity to listen to this piece.
NEWS
Some exciting exclusive music
Many rappers decide to distance themselves from the mainstream straming platforms and instead goes with a Bandcamp where the music is locked out (until you buy it) after few plays. Some of them went even further and started releasing their music on their own platforms only. This strategy also started using rapper Crimeapple which already released 3 new albums this year and 2 instrumental versions of his older works. You can buy his newest album You’re Dead Already here. Some of the beats are made by DJ Muggs or Sadhugold. New album has been released by talented Mike Shabb also on his own website. Album Bokleen World will be released on the streaming services on 30th of November but you can already buy it today, right here.
Ty Farris is back
Ty Farris is a veteran from Detroit which does not seem to be able to release a bad album. His four-part series (for now four part) No Cosign, Just Cocaine belongs in between the best music you can currently listen to. On his first project of the year rapper has been joint by Swiss producer Sebb Bash and delivered album with completely different atmosphere that we are used to from him. But to release just one album a year is not enough so Ty Farris is planning to return on 2nd of December and release album Pain For Ya Vein and let us tell you that we cannot wait. For now, you can watch a clip for the track No Balance To Greatness.
BEST RELEASES
Estee Nack & Grubby Pawz – “IWANNAFXCKCARMENHAYES”
Rapper Estee Nack is one of the most interesting artists on the scene and does not have an issue to conquer any beat that you will put in front of him, it does not matter how fast/slow it is or on anything else, Estee will come and dominate. Artist already released two projects with al.divino (Gl1tch and Triple Black Diamonds 2) and one with Sadhugold (SOGW2:Estee Nack & the Order of the Golden Fleece). Now he returns with project “IWANNAFXCKCARMENHAYES” which was produced by Grubby Pawz. You can again expect on a very colourful palette of tracks where you will find some melodic jazz productions but also the opposite side of a spectrum, crazy, aggressive tracks. Unfortunately, there has been no clip released for the album so let’s watch clip for “NACKMANDELA/KINGORKINGDOM”.
MIKE & Wiki & The Alchemist – One More
This one was quite a surprise and alongside the release of the new collection from Patta (Dutch fashion brand) collaborating with Tommy Hilfiger we got an EP. Production of the album has been done by The Alchemist and MIKE & Wiki are on the mic. Three amazing tracks and one music video where artists wear new collection is something that we could not even imagine just couple days back.
Sadat X & Dough Networkz – Science of Life
Member of the alternative hip-hop band Brand Nubian, veteran Sadat X released his first album back in 1990 and rapped alongside of Wu-Tang Clan or Fat Joe, went to prison, was a teacher in a primary school, firefighter or a coach of the basketball team. His life experiences have been transferred to his newest album Science of Life produced by Dough Networkz. Among the guests are The Musalini, Planet Asia, Knowledge the Pirate or Jay NiCE.
Sleep Sinatra & Don.Carrera – X-CALIBUR
After the BRAINSTORMZ (w/ KNGKVMI) and Shadow Self (w/ Ohbliv) rapper from Nebraska now comes with his third album this year called X-CALIBUR which was produced by Don.Carrera. Instead of strongly personal, introspective lyrics from Shadow Self rapper came with abstract thoughts about supernatural. Dive deep into the new album and discover unrecognised potential. No clip has been released alongside the album so here is the visual for the track Retrograde.
VvG – Invi$ible Bully 2
VvG AKA Verbal Van Gogh is fairly unknown rapper from North Carolina. It is a real shame that artist is not more notorious to the mainstream audience because we think that his unique style of rap has a chance to catch an ear of many listeners. On this album VvG perfectly combines easy going flows with interesting productions. You should definitely give it a listen. Currently there is not clip for any of the tracks on this album therefor we decided to accompany this with video for Practice Freestyle.
