NEWS OF THE WEEK

YUNGMORPHEUS - Burnished Sums cover
YUNGMORPHEUS – Burnished Sums cover

Talent from Miami YUNGMORPHEUS has been one of our favourite artists for a while now. Artist released Deluxe version of his album Bag Talk earlier this year, produced album Slang Casino for Obijuan and released project Up Against the Wall; A Degree of Lunacy on which beats were taken care of by Theravada. But rapper does not stop and releases new EP Burnished Sums.

You can anticipate six perfect tracks followed by three clips. Beats picked for the project are again amazing with great samples, artist enrich those beats with his deep lyrics and calm flows. On top of that you can catch rapper on his European tour where plans 4 more stops (Paris, Lyon, Lille and Copenhagen). If you get a chance definitely grab your tickets. We went to his show in Prague and it was definitely worth it.

NEWS

It is finally here. Rapper Ab-Soul will release a new album after the long six years hiatus. Album Herbert will see the light of the world on 16th of December. Album is being produced by label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). You can watch the clip for Gang’Nem ft. Fre$H below.

Welcome to the Rap Bakery

There are no doubts about the fact that Raz Fresco is a hard worker. Producer and rapper from Toronto is completely unstoppable this year, not that he just gave us 10 albums this year already he also takes care of a group Bakersclub (which he is member of) and now you can look behind the scenes of mentioned bakery where Fresco and seventeen years old Gritfall work on some new music.

Roc Marciano is the king of underground

We cannot argue about the fact that Roc Marciano is the king of rap underground. Praise to his music is not being singed just by us on a daily basis, he belongs in-between our favorite artists and there is nobody who affected current scene more then he did. So, when we finded out that Rolling Stone is running an article about him, it made us very happy. You can read the article here and learn a lot of interesting information.

BEST RELEASES

BROCKHAMPTON – The Family/TM

BROCKHAMPTON – The Family/TM cover

BROCKHAMPTON is a successful hip-hop band founded by Kevin Abstract back in 2010. Since their first mixtape in 2016 (All-American Trash) they released 6 albums and became become a world phenomenon and involved in a several controversies. Now they released their (allegedly) last album The Family which was unexpectedly followed up by another album TM. On the first mentioned The Family you will hear only Kevin Abstract while on a TM are all of the members of the group. Both projects gave us a feeling that group wants to depart in the best light possible so you can expect experimental beats and a lot of introspective confessions.

38 Spesh & Harry Fraud – Beyond Belief

Talented rapper 38 Spesh released EP 7 Shots, third in a line of his Shots series. Now he returns with another project that takes him out of his comfort zone. Production of the album has been taken care of by Harry Fraud, so this project is a perfect starting point for the new listeners which did not get a chance to listen to Spesh’s music before. Album is full of stories from unwelcoming life at the edge of law.

Hus KingPin – My Beautiful Dark Wave Fantasy

Rapper Hus KingPin releases another project inspired by music he loves. After albums Portishus, The Firm and Bjorkingpin artist gave us My Beautiful Dark Wave Fantasy which is his own twist on famous album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West. You can expect sampled beats that you know very well but Hus makes them much tougher and darker than Kanye. This album is not just tribute to the classic from Kanye but is full of new original ideas.

Apollo Brown & Philmore Greene – Cost of Living

This album is a complete gem for the fans of boom bap sound and honest rap. Apollo Brown belongs in-between the best producers from Detroit and if this name rings a bell, you can probably imagine what rappers he works with. His beats are being given just to the talented artists that builds their style on honest, well written lyrics. Philmore Greene from Chicago is one of those rappers. Cost of living is album full of grief, pain, experiences but then some hope as well.

Milc & Televangel – Neutral Milc Motel

Original producer from Oakland Televangel produced amazing album Metatron’s Cube for rapper AJ Suede this year. On album Neutral Milc Motel he joints his forces with tapper from Portland which should be known to more people. Milc has a lot of talent, perfect sense for beats and unique flows. Album Neutral Milc Motel is full of guests, which delivered absolutely flawless performances. What else you would expect from guys like AJ Suede, Deniro Farrar, Defcee, Zilla Rocca and Sleep Sinatra. Unfortunately, there was no clip released for the album so let’s watch video for the song White Denim.
