NEWS OF THE WEEK

Year 2022 has been pretty amazing so far. We get some new music from the most talented artists on a weekly basis but even though the amount of talent on a current scene is completely unreasonable, there is still few names that sticks out. One of them is AJ Suede a producer/rapper from Seattle. His album Avada Kedavra made it on our list of TOP 50 best rap albums of 2021. So bar was already pretty high but AJ still managed to overdo himself and push the boundaries little bit further and it is not the only project that has been released by the artist in 2022, earlier this year he already gave us Metatron’s Cube, Hundred Year Darkness, Oil On Canvas and now Darth Sueder 7: Rogues Gallery.

His latest release is (as a name suggests) already a seventh instalment in this series, series which is produced by Suede himself. You can expect very unique beats with great samples and mystical atmosphere. AJ is not the main star of the show and appears behind the mic just a few times but gives a lot of space to talented guests. Names which you can expect are Bloo Azul, Sleep Sinatra, Teller Bank$, Killy Shoot, Milc, SolarFive, andrew and Jesse The Tree and they all delivered big time.

As if this amazing album would not be enough, rapper R.A.P. Ferreira and AJ Suede are going on tour together, starting 7th of January they will be touring around the US. Alongside of this announcement rappers told us that they are becoming a duo G’s Us and their first project will be here sooner then we have expected, production of the whole album will be done by Steel Tipped Dove.

Names YL, Starker, zoomo and no.face belongs in between our favourite artists. They all belong into the group RRR Music Group and later this month are planning to release an album, here is a little sneak peak they released.

Jay Worthy accomplished his dream

We will tell you more about the project What They Hittin 4 in section Best Releases. During the occasion of the new release, we got a short interview where both DJ Muggs and Jay Worthy uncovered the process of album creation which specific sound they were looking for and why is the album dream come true for the rapper. You can learn more in the video.

Oddisee comes back

Talented rapper from Washington Oddisee already left a big mark on a scene. His albums Tangible Dream (2013) and The Good Fight (2015) belongs in between the modern classics without a doubt and now after more then 2 years hiatus rapper will come back with album To What End which will be released on 20th of January 2023. BEST RELEASES

Nas & Hit-Boy – King’s Disease 3

Nas & Hit-Boy – King’s Disease 3 cover

They are back after albums King’s Disease (2020), King’s Disease II (2021) and Magic (2021) Nas & Hit-Boy releases their fourth project which we think is their best joint work to date. King’s Disease 3 is huge album with 17 tracks where you can feel that both artists loved every minute of making this album. Nas is a legend among the legends, and it is amazing to hear that even after all those years he still loves rap, he is still in a perfect form and his hunger with which he is spitting his immaculate lines is uncomparable. There are no guests on the album but that is not something we would be bothered by. Hit-Boy overdid himself and delivered one of the best beats.

Jay Worthy & DJ Muggs – What They Hittin 4

Jay Worthy born in Vancouver but raised in Compton already released two amazing projects this year – 2P’z in a Pod (w/ Larry June) and You Take Credit, We’ll Take the Check (w/ Harry Fraud). Now he comes with his third album (completely produced by DJ Muggs) where he proved to us that there is no beat, he is not able to conquer. Album has a great atmosphere offered jazz loops, hard-hitting boom bap productions and even psychadelical melodies. Album is the best fusion of old school atmosphere and the passion for the constant experimentation. Great Work.

AKAI SOLO – Spirit Roaming

Renowned label Backwoodz Studioz released perfect albums Aethiopes (billy woods & Preservation), I Told Bessie (E L U C I D), Metal Lung (ShrapKnel) and Church (billy woods & Messiah Musik) earlier this year but promised us that they have left the best album for the end and here it is AKAI SOLO and his album Spirit Roaming. Talented rapper is very hungry on his latest project and behind the mic delivers performance we have not seen in a while. On the album AKAI wonders in depth of his soul and kills demons, that he encounters on a way. Productions has been taken care of by the best of the best, for example Theravada, Preservation, JUNIE, August Fanon or Animoss, absolute necessity if you ask us.

Obijuan & Dylantheinfamous – GUANAHANI

This guy is crazy, we do not know how else we can describe Obijuan. Rapper original from Nassau, the capital of Bahamas this year already released HELVITI, SLANG CASINO, MYSTERY MERXHANT, METHUSELAH, BLAXK TUESDAY and XYBERPHUNK: 2033 [PROTOTYPE]. His frequency of releases is fascinating. On his new project he joints his forces with Dylantheinfamous and delivers and album GUANAHANI. Anticipate slimy dirty beats and chilling lyrics. This can be done just by Obijuan.

Homeboy Sandman & Deca – Still Champion

Homeboy Sandman, rapper releasing under the label Mello Music Group, joints his talents with producer Deca and together made album Still Champion. Album is full of positive energy, soulful productions and perfect lyrics. Homeboy can write very introspective lyrics in which everyone can easily find themselves with lightness of the feather. Rapper is in much better state of mind then he was while creating album Don’t Feed The Monster (2020) and it is recognizable on the music.
