NEWS OF THE WEEK
“I’m on offense every day until I see the love / KD3 on the way, this just to feed the buzz,” that is what rapper Nas said on his track Ugly from his most recent album Magic, released back in December 2021 and he was not lying, King’s Disease 3 is coming on November 11th.
This will be already rapper’s fourth collaboration with producer Hit-Boy. Duo has a perfect chemistry and Nas seems to be enjoying these releases very much, fans love the albums and Kings Disease even won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Rapper did not share the playlist for the upcoming release yet.

Backwoodz Studioz pulls out an Ace from their sleeve
Renowned label Backwoodz Studioz releases the best rap since 2002 but even with a history going that long back, they managed to overdo themselves again. Praised label released amazing albums Aethiopes (billy woods & Preservation), I Told Bessie (E L U C I D), Metal Lung (ShrapKnel) and Church (billy woods & Messiah Musik) and EP Body Feeling (Akai Solo). Last mentioned, talent Akai Solo will release his new album Spirit Roaming on 11th of November 2022 and it seems like it is going to be really big.
Akai Solo does not release multiple projects every year anymore, nowadays he takes his time so he can create something really spectacular. Label said that they left the best album to be released as last one this year, but if you look at their track record, bar is already so high, that we cannot even imagine what will be rapper able to deliver. Executive producer for this album is billy woods himself and production has been taken care by the best among the best so you can expect beats by Theravada, Preservation, JUNIE, August Fanon or Animoss. Even tho bar is really high, we cannot wait for what is in works in Backwoodz Studioz.
Theravada is not planning to slow down anytime soon
Producer and rapper Theravada already had a very productive year and he does not seem to be slowing down after My Own 2 Hands, Up Against the Wall; A Degree Of Lunacy and his newest Strange Voice (we will talk more about this one in a little bit) and now he announced (during his interview on podcast Bucked Up with Sam Buck) that he is planning new joint projects with Starker, Nickelus F, Fly Anakin and Monday Night.

Armani Ceasar – The Liz 2
After the long months of waiting Armani Ceasar from Griselda finally released her long-expected project The Liz 2, it is an follow up on her previous album from 2020. Rapper’s motto for this album was bigger is better and it worked out perfectly. You will find some hard productions with Armani’s bone chilling bragging on top, but she also came up with some slower more melodic tracks and personal confessions. Rapper sounds very comfortable through out it all. Between the guests are Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Stove God Cook$, Kodak Black, BeatKing and Queendom Come so if you are looking for loud album or some fresh air in gangster rap genre, you are on a right place here.
Theravada – Strange Voice
Charismatic music magician born in Greece Theravada is not just a rapper but very skilful producer as well and as we said above, this is already his third release this year. Artist produced, wrote, mixed, mastered and recorded the whole album himself. There are no guests on this album. Sampled loops are beautiful, Theravada brings one creative beat after the other. His original lyrics are opening gates to another world, to the world where you will feel like you cannot leave until you explore every single inch of it. There was a no clip released with the album, so let’s watch a video for Information from the My Own 2 Hands then.
Wiki & Subjxct 5 – Cold Cuts
New York rapper Wiki joints his talents with producer Subjxct 5 so they can create more then hour long mixtape Cold Cuts. Last year we got albums Telephonebooth and Half God from Wiki, the newest addition to his discography does not have a firm structure and is much more varied compared to his previous work, which is definitely not a bad thing. So, you can expect not just calm personal tracks which are typical for the artist but also some hard-hitting bangers. One of the guests on the album is Papo2oo4 from New Jersey, him and Wiki have a perfect chemistry. In between the other guests you can find names like YL, Navy Blue, Afrikillz, Slicky, Hunnaloe, Reed, Big Ouee and DJ Lucas. Artists gave us another album that even though is quite long, does not lose it’s breath until the last minute.
Tha God Fahim & Jay NiCE – Bloodspiller
When we talked about Duck CZN: Tiger Style by Tha God Fahim last week and week before that about Heightened Senses by Jay NiCE, we would not even dream of that these two will manage to release joint project on top of their regular releases. Bloodspiller is one of those albums just do not see coming, it is an follow up on their previous colaborations Strictly 4 My D.U.M.P.E.R.Z (2018) and Dump Life (2020). It is a shorter project and checks out in about 20 minutes but if you are at least little bit familiar with a both artists, you know that they will get an absolute maximum of from each of those minutes. One of the tracks that caught our attention the most is called Heavy n da Trunk where both artists exchange verse after verse and it gives a really great rhythm. Some of the producers on this album are Bombay, Nicholas Craven, Mike Shabb or Benji Socrates. Unfortunately, there was no clip released with the album so let’s listen and watch to the clip for the track Showdown at The House of Blue Leaves.
Filip Neuf – Riveria Arkestra
Filip Neuf is talented producer from Stockholm who introduced himself to the world last year with a solo project called Parc Monet and album Charis co-produced by Harvey Gold. After his first album this year called Pearls Before Swine where he collaborated with rapper Mourning Run, now he comes with his most ambitious project so far. Album Riveria Arkestra is inspired by artists stay on a coast of Italy and you literally feel the genius loci of the place. Amazing productions with some elements of jazz has their own personal nostalgic aura that will catch you and will not let go. Album is full of guests, we would like to mention rappers YL, unruly, Frans Nielsen and Koncept Jack$on.
