News of the week
Last album from Freddie Gibbs was released in 2020 and was completely produced by Alchemist since then rapper released a few songs e.g., Black Illuminati (ft. Jadakiss) or Gang Signs (feat. ScHoolboy Q) so we cannot wait for his new project called $oul $old $eperately which is announced for release on last day of September.
New album will be comprised of 15 completely new tracks. On his new album Freddie works with wide range of different producers and you can find talents like Pharrell, The Alchemist, Madlib, Boi-1da, Jake One, Tay Keith, DJ Paul or Kaytranada. Rapper released a pilot track for the album called Too Much (ft. Moneybagg Yo) followed by a clip and preorders for album & merch has been started on official web.

Kendrick Lamar released a short film
Finally, after five long years we have been given new album by Kendrick Lamar back in May, album was called Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers and contains 19 tracks. Now Kendrick came back with a short film for the track We Cry Together featuring Taylour Paige and produced by Alchemist. Track is capturing very messy argument in a toxic relationship which was basically asking for a short film to go along.
A$AP Rocky released a mysterious clip
Out of nowhere came A$AP Rocky and casually released clip for track Our De$tiny (featuring Playboi Carti) on his Instagram and Twitter. Rapper did not give any commentary whatsoever so we do not know if there is some new album in works or even if the track will be released on some streaming platform, the only thing we can do is to wait and see.

Nicholas Craven and Boldy James linked up again
And we continue on a wave of unknown with release of the song Scrabble by producer Nicholas Craven and rapper Boldy James. After Death & Taxes and Power Nap, it is already a third single that artists released this summer but that is about it…is there a bigger joint project on works or at least an EP? Who knows, the only thing we are sure about is that these two talents together are definitely worth the wait.

LMD (LMNO, MED & Declaime) & Madlib – Flying High
Supergroup LMD was founded in 2010 by rappers LMNO, MED & Declaime but their debut album did not see the light of day until now. Album Flying High was completely produced by Madlib and his beats with perfect rhythms, chemistry of the rappers brings together project that breaths joy and feels like rappers and producer had an amazing time putting it together. One of the featuring artists on an album is Fly Anakin.
Kenny Beats – Louie
There is no need to introduce somebody like Kenny Beats, talented producer worked with artists like Vince Staples, Freddie Gibbs or Denzel Curry. Kenny does not hold himself back and does not stick just with rap but for example this year produced album Crawler for the rock band IDLES. His talent is fully shown on his debut album Louie which is without any vocals with few exceptions with few rhymes from Slowthai, JPEGMAFIA or Pink Siifu.
amani & robalu – ill be right black!
Brooklyn rappers amani & robalu team up for album ill be right black! Album was completely produced by artists themselves with the exception of the track starchild which has been produced by Child Actor. ill be right back! contains nine very creative tracks that bring together experimental beats and unique lyrics. This album will bring especial joy into life of the fans that support billy woods, ELUCID or duo ShrapKnel. It is one of the most unique projects of the whole year so definitely do not miss out.
Abe Linx & Tully C. – The World Famous La Familia Forever
Abe Linx & Tully C., duo of rappers from Indianapolis, gave us their second joint project. Rappers have a perfect chemistry and deliver another great album for the fans of grimy rap. Album features Willie The Kid, Planet Asia and Bub Rock. Production has been taken care of by Proffeny, Awsme J, Mossy, nomstks, PHD Beatz, James Burns and DJ GB.
Psalm One & Custom Made – Bigg Perrm
Rapper from Chicago joint her forces with producer Custom Made. Veteran rapper already released more then 10 studio albums some of them under the label Rhymesayers (which she left because of the toxic environment). Psalm One can do basically anything behind the mike. This album feels very fresh and confronts topics like business and support of black communities, acceptance of queer people, mental health or patriarchal independence.
