News of the week

Joint project of rapper Roc Marciano and producer Alchemist was without a doubt the most anticipated album of the year. Rapper that ever since his debut album Marcberg (2010) did not release anything bad and belongs in between the most consistent artists on a scene while constantly redefining genre and being the most influential artist on an underground scene. Father of ,,neo boom bap” sound joint his talents with Alchemist, producer that has been releasing one amazing project after the other for last couple of years. Album Elephant Man’s Bones is huge, original, dark and creative. You can feel that these two are the best on a current scene and rightfully so. Elephant Man’s Bones is a future classic.

Just a heads up…this album is an absolute banger after the other. Rapper Meyhem Lauren joint his talents with Daringer producer from Griselda Records. Album Black Vladimir has unreasonably good pace and as we already said, there is not a project from this year that has so many hits. Meyhem connects his luxury life with the one from the criminal underground and Daringer brings the best productions of its kind. Sounds of his piano will stick with you long time after listening.

Last year Mach Hommy made it to the top of our TOP 50 Best rap albums list with his album Pray for Haiti. Artist joints his forces with rapper Tha God Fahim and together they released their already forth instalment to the series Dollar Menu. Original texts, amazing productions, remarkable flows and rappers’ chemistry AKA recipe for success that needs no adjustments. Dollar Menu 4 is another score in this already remarkable series. There has been no video released with the album, but we will at least supply you with clip for d’Shady & d’Lamp from Dollar Menu 2.

Member of Flatbush Zombies trio, Meechy Darko. Talented rapper which is easily recognisable thanks to his unique voice and aggressive delivery, finally released his first solo project Gothic Luxury and proves to us all that Meechy has no issues with carrying whole album just on his back. Rapper talks about socio-political issues, distances himself from police, racism and celebrates black culture. In between the guests you can find Black Thought, Freddie Gibbs or Busta Rhymes.

J.I.D. – The Forever Story

Rapper from Atlanta returns five years after release of The Never Story with the follow up The Forever Story. Album is little bit all over the place with all sorts of different topics, flows and beats which is a good thing because everybody can find something for themselves. Among the featuring artists are 21 Savage, Lil Wayne or legendary Yasiin Bey.

Label that is responsible for billy woods and his Aethiopes. But before that Akai and Backwoodz are teasing us with EP called Body Feeling. But this EP is not just a teasing, Body Feeling stands on its own legs and show rapper’s undeniable talent. Unfortunately, there was no video released alongside of a EP so please enjoy the clip for the song Ocean Hue Hours from album True Sky.
