Griselda’s Benny The Butcher founded his own label named Black Soprano Family (BSF) back in 2016. Members of this label are Rick Hyde, Heem, LoveBoat Luciano, Young World and also deceased DJ Shay. In 2020 this label released its debut mixtape named The Respected Sopranos and now more then 2 years later they are asking for our attention again with their second mixtape named Long Live DJ Shay which will drop on 9th of September. Label this way pays tribute to DJ Shay who was big influence in their lives and played role in founding Griselda Records. On their new mixtape will be members of BSF joint by Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Krayzie Bone, Boldy James, StoveGod Cook$, Cory Gunz and more. First single Times is Rough was produced by legendary DJ Premier and you can already listen to it alongside of official video,

We will stick with Black Soprano Family for a little bit with announcement that has been made by Benny The Butcher. Benny invited rapper ElCamino on a stage during his last concert and officially welcomed him to the BSF by passing the BSF chain. ElCamino is a great rapper with long list of quality projects to his name.

News

Rapper Your Old Droog (YOD) is one of the most productive artists on a scene. This unique artist already released three projects this year and plans to add another one. After the Tha Wolf on Wall St. 2: The American Dream, YOD Wave and Yod Stewart will YOD release Yodney Dangerfield on 12th of August. YOD already released a debut single for this album named 50K or Brunch.

But YOD is doing more then just releasing new music, he also concerts with already existing material. Fans captured some pretty atmospheric videos on his last show in which rapper is joint by Mach-Hommy.

Rapper Boldy James and producer Real Bad Man met in a Very Special, shop that has branch in Los Angeles and Amsterdam, to perform few tracks from their album Killing Nothing.

Most of you is familiar with trio Flatbush Zombies. Group has quite a few well-known tracks that have not been missed by any fan of the genre. One of the members Meechy Darko released first three singles from his debut solo album Gothic Luxury, two of them alongside of music video. Album will be released on 26th of August. Meechy already released cover image and tracklist. In between the guests we can find names like Black Thought, Denzel Curry or Busta Rhymes.

YUNGMORPHEUS, that has been mentioned in our last Rap Weekly with his production credits on the project Slang Casino by him and Obijuan, released another project this week but this time is YUNGMORPHEUS raping. Album Up Against The Wall; A Degree Of Lunacy was produced by THERAVADA. Album has just around 20 minutes but has amazing music ideas for at least another three projects. An absolute necessity for everybody.

AJ Suede, artist from Seattle that always takes inspiration from religion and mysticism definitely belongs in between this year’s MVPs. AJ already released two amazing albums (Hundred Year Darkness and Metatron’s Cube) this year and during the last week he added a third one with name Oil on Canvas. Album is again interwind with complex texts and worked through to the tiniest details. Unfortunately for the album has not been released any music video yet so we will give you clip from the album Hundred Year Darkness.

Underappreciated rapper Mondo Slade caught our attention last year with album Master Speech with cover that quotes legendary album Supreme Clientele. This week he gave us another gem that is as good as it’s predecessor. Give it a shot, you will definitely not regret it.
