News of the week
We consider reveal of the track list, release date and cover of join album of Roc Marciano and producer Alchemist the most exciting thing that happened on a scene during the past week. Two absolute legends talked about joint project for a few years now and couple week back we got reassurance that it’s coming this year. The double-album is named The Elephant Man’s Bones and will be released on 26th of August. You can expect 14 tracks. With guests Action Bronson, Boldy James, Ice-T and Knowledge The Pirate. Artists already worked together on a few joints, for instance Flash Gordon, Fabio and Saw. Album is without the doubt the most expected album of the year and Alchemist already hyped it up when he posted that this is the best project that both artists ever putted together on his Twitter profile.
News
On the same date as Marciano’s and Alchemist’s (8/26/22) new album will be also released joint project by Meyhem Lauren and producerr Daringer (one of the Griselda’s label top producers). Album has a name Black Vladimir. Artists already released a teaser in the form of the first song and now they released another one. Red Pesto feat. Conway The Machine which is followed by the great musical video. Guests on the album will be Action Bronson, Westside Gunn, Flee Lord, ELCamino and Hologram.
Not even an independent label FXCK RXP remained silent. From August to October this label will be releasing joint projects by Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon & Twit One, Eto & Futurewave and Boldy James & Futurewave. Last duo already released first single to which you can listen to here.
Big surprise was the announcement of the third album by rapper Crimeapple and producer DJ Muggs. After Medallo and Cartagena, next album is going to be named Sin Cortar. If that would not be enough Crimeapple said that through out the whole album he will be rapping in Spanish, and we can expect first single named NBA on 5th of August.
Best releases
Domo Genesis & Evidence – Intros, Outros, & Interludes
Their second joint project also released rap duo Domo Genesis and producer Evidence. Rapper from California and ex member of Odd Future released his debut album Genesis back in 2016. We got really excited when this not very active MC with excellent lyrics joint his talent with Evidence whose melodies take long to get bored of.
Sly Moon – Banned From The Vic
Sly Moon, rapper from London released an amazing self-produced EP last week. Sly Moon is a member of the Blah Records which is constantly delivering just the best from British scene. In between the guests on this album are SonnyJim and Stinkin Slumrok. If you are looking for the original sound from England, this short project is definitely something for you.
Obijuan & YUNGMORPHEUS – Slang Casino
Slang Casino, another album from the last week that you shouldn’t miss. Album brings together unique collaboration between rapper Obijuan born in Nassau and producer YUNGMORPHEUS. Original pallet of sounds and great chemistry between the artists are just two of many reasons why you should listen to this album.
Estee Nack & Friends – #MINIMANSIONDUST VOL. 1
Last project from the last week we would like to talk about is album from Estee Nack. On his album #MINIMANSIONDUST VOL. 1 Estee invited many guests with similarly aggressive and uncompromising style like he has. Rapper has been introduced to the wider circle of listeners on the Westside Gunn’s Peace “Fly” God earlier this month. You can listen to his project on Bandcamp.
